Has the Lord been a priority in our lives? Although unconsciously, all people set priorities in their lives. Even without realizing it, every day, we make choices that determine our history.

Wake up early, advance that task, pray, study the word. Whatever action is taken, the priority to be placed on anyone’s life should be the most important thing for them.

The Bible instructs us to make the Lord a priority in our lives. Worshiping and obeying him must be the Christian’s priority in any circumstances.

In today’s blog, we would be looking at 51 bible verses about priorities. I believe that these bible verses will be a blessing to you.

What does the Bible say about priorities?

If our priorities are right, our perspective on God, things, and people will also be correct.

There are no priorities but Priority. This is true because it was the Lord Jesus Himself who said: “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and the rest will be added” (Mt 6.33).

Jesus wanted to teach us that our Priority is the Lord. If we say ‘priorities’, we will put Him on a level with our options. So, priorities do not exist. The Lord does not allow the division of His glory.

It does not allow Him to stay on the same level as our preferences. He wants to be loved with all our heart, with all our soul, strength, and with all our understanding (Mt 22:37-38).

The definition of priority leads us to understand the Lord’s place in us. He is not the first, but the only one.

Bible Verses about Priorities in the Old Testament

It happens that, many times, we end up not setting our priorities correctly.

God must have priority in our lives. However, in practice, from time to time, we mix this order and do not put the Lord in the place he should.

Usually, when things get out of hand, we remember that and then try to fix the error.

It is of utmost importance that we touch ourselves for this and put the Lord in his proper place, that is, in a priority way.

Bible Verses about Priority in the new testament

Jesus met a rich young man who wanted to know what he needed to do to experience eternal salvation.

When Jesus told him to sell everything he had, give it to the poor and follow him, the young man withdrew because he had many possessions (Luke 18: 18-23). His possessions have deceived him.

Many people make the same mistake. In fear, they cling to what they have and lose what they could have. They believe in things that can never satisfy them and forget that only Jesus can give inner peace and salvation.

They are content with the good rather than the great. So, decide to put God as a priority in your life, and you will see that all the best will be added to you!

  1. Mark 10:42-45

Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them.

But it is not this way among you, but whomever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

  1. John 1:12

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

  3. Matthew 10:37-39

Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

  1. Matthew 6:19

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal

Priority in Paul’s Letter

The apostle Paul teaches us that we must offer the Lord a ‘rational, logical, consistent service’ (Romans 12: 1).

This means that there must always be coherence between our belief, feeling, speaking, listening, and acting within the perspective of Priority or Its pre-existence.

If God is not my precedence, everything else will be. When we decimate, offer, and invest in the work of missions with all their implications, our motivation is the priority.

God is our unique, absolute, incomparable, and irreplaceable priority in Christ always through the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

  1. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.

  1. Philippians 3:13-14

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

When we make God our priority, we are putting Him at the top of our lives. And just because we put God as a priority, He blesses us, and we miss nothing. Putting God first is the best choice we can make.
